2 Calif. firefighters burned battling house fire

One firefighter suffered second- and third-degree burns to 16 percent of his body; the other was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition

AMADOR COUNTY, Calif. — Two firefighters were burned while battling a house fire Wednesday night.

KCRA reported that Cal Fire’s Aaron Williams, 22, is recovering at a hospital after suffering 16 percent second- and third-degree burns to his shoulders, arms, hands and ears.

Williams has been with Cal Fire for two years and was reported to be in good spirits, surrounded by his family and fellow firefighters, Cal Fire officials said.

Another firefighter with Amador County was also burned in the blaze and was taken to a hospital. He’s listed as stable, according to the report.

Cal Fire is working with the Amador Fire Protection District to review the incident.
