TAKOMA PARK, Md. — A firefighter escaped injury after falling through a floor while battling a house fire Saturday.
WJLA reported that the firefighter, with the Montgomery County (Md.) Fire Department, was able to escape safely without assistance.
The cause of the fire was due to an electrical issue in the basement. It spread from the basement throughout the two-story home. Public Information Officer Pete Piringer said 75 firefighters responded to put out the fire and damages were estimated at $250,000.
No other injuries were reported and no one was home at the time of the fire.
