LONDON — A photo circulating on the Internet shows an unidentified man suspected of taking a selfie in front of a multi-vehicle crash that caused serious injuries.
The photo shows the man standing on a bridge over the North Circular in Barnet, holding his phone as though posing for a picture, with the crash scene clearly visible in the background.
The crash occurred when two trucks and a car collided. Emergency crews worked for more than an hour to free a trapped 19-year-old, who was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury, Daily Mail reports. Two other females passengers, ages 15 and 19, also suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
“We were called at 3:18 p.m. today to reports of a road traffic collision on the A406, close to Colney Hatch Lane, involving two lorries and a car,” a London Ambulance Service spokesman said. “We sent London’s Air Ambulance, two ambulance crews, our hazardous area response team and a duty manager.”
A 48-year-old man driving one of the was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
