CLEVELAND — Cleveland Fire investigators discovered the body of a missing man when they revisited the scene of a house fire that occurred on July 5.

The fire began shortly before 4:30 a.m. Investigators stated that the fire started shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the second-floor porch and had spread throughout the house, igniting the neighboring homes, FOX8 WJW reported.

After the fire, the department reported there was an adult male who was unaccounted for. The family reported the man, identified as Hylandis Oliver, missing on July 6, finding it suspicious that his car was still in the driveway during the fire, as he would never leave it behind, WOIO reported.

Fire investigators found Oliver on July 7 when they returned to the scene.

Oliver’s daughter, Keanne Oliver, said the family urged firefighters to reenter the home, but they had already searched the second floor twice and found it clear.

The Cleveland Police Department and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner are investigating the incident.
