LA CROSSE , Wis. — A 15-year-old Wis. boy is hospitalized with severe burns from a kitchen fire the started while he was cooking.
The unidentified boy ran from the apartment he was cooking in to the ER of a hospital a few blocks away Sunday afternoon, according to the La Crosse Tribune.
Sckilayre Eberhardy, who lives right above the boy, said that she could hear “a guy…screaming, and I could hear his sister screaming, ‘Oh, my God.’”
Eberhardy said that she had spoken with the boy’s father, who told her that the boy’s arms were badly burned.
No other residents were injured in the blaze that caused moderate damage to the building. Tenants were immediately evacuated and firefighters responded to the fire within three minutes of the call.
