HEMET, Calif. — A homeless Calif. man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a firefighter who was trying to assist him during a medical call.
Crews called for police assistance after Mark Landon, 46, became unresponsive then combative towards responding firefighters, according to MyDesert.com.
Landon would not comply with police orders and resisted the officers’ efforts to arrest him for suspicion of assaulting a firefighter.
He was later taken into custody with minor cuts and bruises due to his resisting arrest and was also taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
An officer also suffered some minor injuries during the scuffle.
After being treated, Landon was taken into jail on suspicion of assaulting a firefighter, resisting arrest, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
