JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded Monday evening to a three-alarm fire at the Los Lagos condominium complex in the 7900 block of Los Robles Court.
The initial call for help came in around 8:42 p.m. Heavy fire and smoke were showing in the back of the structure, according to JFRD. A total of 60 to 70 firefighters fought the fire. JFRD asked JEA to increase water pressure to fight the fire.
A firefighter battling the blaze fell through the floor from the second to the first level and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South with unknown injuries. The firefighter was expected to be released from the hospital early Tuesday morning. “As soon as that happens, everybody’s blood pressure goes up about 50 points until we get him out safe. So it was a scary few moments. They were able to get him out rapidly and to the hospital,” said Chief Martin Senterfitt.
