SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A firefighter is under internal investigation after reportedly racist Facebook comments surfaced this week.
According to CBS Local, the firefighter posted comments regarding President-elect Donald Trump and illegal immigrants, stating, “Illegal immigrants welcome … we need the target practice.”
Another comment, posted during election night, read, “OK, is it me or what? One the TV they really showing riots in the street over the election? I change the channel and what do I see? Planet of the Apes. Ironic?”
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department has said although it cannot yet confirm whether the posts were made by a firefighter, it “does not condone statements which may be perceived as threatening or discriminatory toward members of the public we serve.”
