CLAREMORE, Okla. — Firefighters in Claremore are living and working in cramped quarters, as one of the fire stations is closed until further notice.
For about a month, firefighters from Station 3 have been working out of the main fire station, and it could be that way for a while, thanks to recent rains. Fire trucks are having to park in places they do not belong, and twice as many firefighters are living inside at all times.
Fire Chief Sean Douglas said the recent rain caused the roof of Fire Station 3 to leak, damaging most of the building. “We will have some cleanup to do,” he said. “It’s just a matter of what degree and what extent.”
