HAVERHILL, Mass. — A Haverhill firefighter who was arrested and charged with several violent acts for the second time in less than a month is being held without bail at Middleton jail.
Daniel Goudreault, 53, of 345 Berry St., North Andover, was arrested Monday night at his home and charged with assault and battery on a household member, witness intimidation, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening to kill police Officer Michael Gilligan.
Goudreault was arrested June 30 at that same location and charged with assault and battery on Officer Thomas Driscoll and resisting arrest.
At Goudreault’s arraignment Tuesday, Lawrence District Court Judge Lynn Rooney revoked bail on the earlier case and ordered Goudreault be held pending a pretrial hearing Aug. 8.
Police were called to Goudreault’s home at 9:10 p.m. Monday to investigate a report of domestic violence, according to a report filed by Gilligan. Officer Kara Caffrey was the first to arrive and reported Goudreault was screaming and throwing things around in the garage.

“I’m warning you, get the (expletive) out of here,” he yelled at Caffrey, police said. When Gilligan ordered Goudreault to put his arms on the front of his car and calm down, he shouted, “Who the (expletive) are you? North Andover cops are a bunch of (expletive). I will destroy you!” according to the officer’s report.
Gilligan reported Goudreault had a strong odor of alcohol. Caffrey and Gilligan put handcuffs on Goudreault, but he tried to kick a Taser out of Caffrey’s hand, Gilligan wrote. Officer Julie Nigro used pepper spray on Goudreault.
Before the police arrived, Goudreault pushed his wife and grabbed her cell phone from her when she tried to call 911, according to Gilligan’s report.
While Goudreault was being taken to the police station, he told Gilligan, “I will come to the station and shoot you when you get out. I will (expletive) kill you so you better watch your back leaving the station.”
Goudreault was uncooperative during booking, police said. Haverhill Mayor James Fiorentini placed Goudreault on unpaid leave after the June 30 incident.
