HOUSTON— The estranged wife of a Houston firefighter was sentenced to eight years deferred adjudication Wednesday after she admitted that she did try to hire someone to kill her husband.
Brittany Martinez pleaded guilty to solicitation of capital murder in June. According to court documents, she tried to have her husband, Adrian Martinez, killed between January 17, 2012 and March 4, 2012. Martinez worked for both the Houston Fire Department and the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department.
The information came to prosecutors through a restaurant manager at the Casa Ole located in the 5900 block of Highway 6 in northwest Harris County. The manager told prosecutors that the Martinez family frequented the restaurant said was friends with Brittany Martinez.
