SEATTLE — Search and rescue efforts are under way after the car of a missing Seattle firefighter was found at Deception Pass on Saturday morning.

Seattle police began investigating Joshua Ryan Milton’s apparent disappearance after he failed to arrive for his 5:30 p.m. shift Thursday, as a paramedic student at Harborview Medical Center.

Milton was last seen near Harborview about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and efforts to reach him by phone and in person have been unsuccessful, police said Friday.

His Honda Accord was found in a Deception Pass parking lot around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Milton joined the Seattle Fire Department in 2012, and was recently accepted into the paramedic program. He is married with a 3-year-old son.

Anyone with information on Milton’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
