PRESS RELEASE
SALT LAKE CITY — In an era of escalating natural disasters, the need for rapid, highly skilled crisis response is more critical than ever. Black Flag Response, a newly formed not-for-profit organization, is stepping up to meet this challenge, bringing an unparalleled level of expertise and dedication to disaster relief.
Founded by combat veteran Zac S. and seasoned entrepreneur Eric B., Black Flag Response is comprised of elite combat veterans and high-level first responders. This unique combination allows them to deliver advanced medical care and technical rescue capabilities with military precision, directly to communities in their most vulnerable moments.
A mission born from purpose
For Zac, the transition from military service left a void. He sought a way to continue serving and utilize his hard-earned skills. For Eric, a successful businessman, a deep-seated desire to serve his country led him to partner with Zac. Together, they envisioned a disaster relief organization that would set a new standard of excellence.
“This isn’t a project for improvisation; we are committed to a rigorously structured and thoroughly prepared response.” says Eric. “We wanted to build something truly impactful, something that would make a real difference.”
Their vision attracted individuals like Reagan R., a veteran, city firefighter/SWAT medic, and business owner, who left his position at the fire department to join Black Flag Response full-time.
Beyond traditional relief efforts
Black Flag Response is equipped to handle the most challenging disaster scenarios. Imagine a wildfire raging: their teams provide advanced life support, including administering DEA-approved narcotics for pain management, directly on the fire line. Picture a flash flood: they perform swift water rescues, extracting trapped individuals from raging currents.
“We’re not just providing assistance; we’re delivering expertise with unwavering compassion,” says Zac.
Veterans answering the call, again
At the heart of Black Flag Response is a team of dedicated veterans who have found a renewed sense of purpose. After serving their country overseas, they now bring their skills and determination to the front lines of natural disasters.
“We’ve created a community where veterans can continue to make a difference,” explains Eric. “They’re uniquely qualified to handle the high-risk scenarios we face.”
Addressing urgent needs and eliminating barriers
Recent deployments, including response to Hurricane Helene, highlighted Black Flag’s capabilities but also revealed the challenge of bureaucratic delays. The organization is actively seeking strategic partners to streamline their response process, ensuring they can deploy immediately when disaster strikes.
“Lives are at stake,” emphasizes Reagan. “We can’t afford to let administrative roadblocks hinder our ability to respond quickly.”
A call to action: support Black Flag Response
To date, Eric has largely self-funded the organization, investing in:
- Equipping the teams: Maintaining and updating specialized rescue and medical equipment.
- Blood supply management: Storing and managing vital blood products.
- Ongoing training: Funding certifications and advanced training.
- Rapid deployment: Covering travel expenses for immediate response.
Black Flag Response is seeking donations and partnerships to further their mission.
“We’re beating down doors to get the resources we need to help others,” says Eric. “Every contribution makes a difference.”
