The event was meant for children to meet and greet Santa as he passed through the neighborhood

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Santa Claus and the fire truck he was riding on was pulled over by police Saturday.

Officials said Santa was pulled over after numerous neighbors complained that the fire truck’s siren was disruptive. The event, which included meeting and greeting children in the area, had been planned for months, reported FOX8. The sirens were being used to alert families that Santa was passing through.

“We pulled over and I’m like, ‘ You pulled a fire truck over with Santa Claus on top. What’s going on?’” Jasen White, who was driving the rig, said. “The whole purpose of what we were doing was just to make the kids smile. It wasn’t meant to disturb anybody.”

After the truck was told to stop using the sirens, the event was abruptly ended.

“It was two hours out of your Saturday evening the weekend before Christmas. Was it that bad?’ White said.

The fire truck was not issued a citation ticket.
