ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has placed electric car charging stations in what some say is a poorly planned area of a parking garage.
The Atlantic City parking garage comes equipped with six charging stations, but they are placed in an area with no overnight parking due to the risk of flooding, according to NJ.com.
A spokeswoman for the Development Authority said that that part of the parking lot was chosen because of its high visibility and to showcase their agency’s commitment to being eco-friendly and green.
An engineer with the National Fire Protection Association said it may be poor planning as the “flood-prone area is a bad spot to put stations pumping out up to 240 volts of power.”
