REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police are looking for the thieves who stole 16 fire hydrants in the city.
The hydrants will cost about $40,000 to replace, officials said.
The hydrants were stolen sometime between the evening of Sept. 11 and early Sept. 12. City officials say the stolen hydrants were in the northwest part of the city on West Lugonia Avenue, Research Drive, Almond and Bryn Mawr avenues.
Officials say the greater concern is the lack of water to fight fires due to the hydrant thefts.
