CHICAGO — A firefighter and five others were hurt in a secondary crash, according to Illinois State Police.
Crews were responding to a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning, when a driver struck a staged fire truck and a police vehicle on scene, the Chicago Sun Times reported.
A Chicago Fire Department firefighter was injured, along with five others, including the driver of the vehicle. They were transported to Stroger and Mount Sinai Hospitals.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence and cited for failure to yield to a stationary vehicle.
