BIRMINGHAM, England — A fire crew rescued a man who had somehow climbed 45 feet to the top of a street light pole.

NY Post reported that firefighters scrambled to help the man after onlookers alerted emergency officials that he was clinging to the light.

The rescue crew spent an hour using extendable ladders and a hydraulic platform to get him down.

The man was transported to a hospital, and Highgate Fire Department officials tweeted that they “got there just in time.”

“You’ll never find our 44-foot ladder pitch in any drill book,” the fire department said.
