CONVERSE, Texas — Converse firefighters spent a day outside using various props and materials to train on rescuing a downed firefighter.

The rapid intervention training called the “Pittsburgh drill” is based on the Bricelyn Street fire in Pittsburgh, on Feb. 14, 1995, that claimed the lives of three firefighters.
