MISSION VIEJO, Calif. — A woman was injured in a house fire on March 25 in Mission Viejo, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Engine 31 was the first to arrive on the scene and found smoke coming from the residence, Patch.com reported. The call was quickly upgraded to a working structure fire and additional companies, including an ambulance, were dispatched.
In a social media post, the department said firefighters from Engine 31 and Engine 54 attacked the fire while simultaneously searching for any occupants. During their search, they discovered an unresponsive woman inside the residence.
The woman was rescued and handed over to firefighter/paramedics who began immediate medical care. She was transported to a local hospital, and her condition remains unknown.
The fire was knocked down in 24 minutes. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
