DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham firefighter is facing dozens of charges in a series of alleged robberies in which he wore the mask of a comic book villain.
Damon Antonio Quick, 35, was arrested Wednesday on 43 charges including second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault by pointing a gun.
Durham police investigating the alleged robberies had unofficially labeled their suspect the “Green Goblin” for wearing a mask during the holdups.The Green Goblin is a villain who appears in the Spider Man comic book series.
WTVD-TV reports Quick used a silver .45 caliber handgun to rob multiple dollar stores, two restaurants, and a video game store in May and June.
Quick was being held Wednesday on $9 million bond. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney, and the case is still under investigation.
State records show Quick was charged with misdemeanor assault in 1993.
