FARGO, Neb. — Fargo firefighters say a dog set a backyard shed on fire by pulling a heat lamp onto its bedding.
A fire department statement said a newpaper carrier reported the blaze shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.
The fire did about $6,000 worth of damage to the shed and some nearby fencing at the south Fargo home.
An investigation showed the 8-month-old black Labrador puppy started the fire by pulling a temporary heat lamp onto the bedding. The bedding then caught fire.
The dog was not injured, and no humans were hurt. The puppy’s owner couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
