EDMOND, Okla. — The assistant fire chief in Edmond, Okla., is being investigated over allegations that he pointed a toy gun at another firefighter.
Assistant Chief Tim Wheeler, 44, has been on paid administrative leave since Oct.7 during the investigation, according to The Oklahoman. He leads the fire prevention division and is the fire department’s public information officer.
Jim Moore, Assistant Chief Wheeler’s attorney, said that an employee who was not involved in the incident complained months after it happened.
“What I can say is Tim was in the process of counseling this other employee on performance problems,” Moore said. “I have talked to all the witnesses, and they have told investigators there was nothing to it. There was no improper conduct with a firearm. If there had been, he would be charged with a crime.”
