EUGENE, Ore. — Firefighters walked in on a strange scene at their fire station Tuesday morning when they found a man donned in firefighting gear sitting at a table waiting for the crew.
The crew had returned from battling a brush fire when they found the man inside the station, reported the Register Guard.
Freddie Jess Sarenana, 36, was arrested on charges of trespassing, criminal mischief and possession of methamphetamine.
Officials said Sarenana broke through a window at the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department station with a rock and climbed inside around 4 a.m. He then climbed on top of a fire truck and laid on the roof.
Sarenana proceeded to change into firefighting pants, a belt and a fire hat.
Police said he was compliant when they arrested him.
