SASKATCHEWAN, Canada — A video display of a Yule log burning on a Canadian stadium big-screen monitor has prompted several frantic calls from citizens.
The Regina Fire Department firefighters said they received calls ranging from reports of “a very bright flame” to “a smell of smoke,” according to CBC.
A fire crew was most recently dispatched on Wednesday afternoon to the false alarm.
Deputy Chief Gerard Kay said the video was a public safety concern and asked stadium officials to replace the video.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have changed the monitor to display a thank you message to fans and will later show a holiday display without flames.
