EMMITSBURG, Md. — The U.S. Fire Administrator has announced the speakers for the upcoming Fire Administrator’s Summit on Fire Prevention and Control on Oct. 10, 2023, at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
The Summit consists of two parts:
- A roundtable discussion on the critical issues facing the fire service with national leaders.

State of Science presentations from national fire service and research experts on climate change, recruitment and retention, firefighter cancer, behavioral health, codes and standards implementation, and elevation of the fire service within the federal government.
The speakers will provide information on the latest advancements and strategies in emerging technology, climate-change impact, fire-based EMS innovations, firefighter health and safety, data innovation and community engagement.
