WASHINGTON — The three firefighters accused of failing to respond when 77-year-old Cecil Mills collapsed across the street from a firehouse now face charges of neglect.
WUSA9 reported that the three were among five firefighters on-duty at a firehouse when Mills collapsed from a heart attack.
Their supervisor, Lt. Kellene Davis, filed for and received retirement with benefits amid accusations of standing by as Mills died.
The firefighters under her watch are facing charges for failing to answer the cries of family members and witnesses after Mills, a long time city worker, collapsed across the street from their firehouse, according to the report.
The firefighters will face a trial board in three separate trials beginning May 12, according to the report.
