Fla. firefighter injured in bailout during house fire

An Orlando firefighter bailed out of a second-floor window with flames overhead

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando firefighter and an occupant are recovering following a house fire in the city.

Orlando firefighters responded to a house fire on East Amelia Street shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 2. Upon arrival, they encountered flames on the second floor of the home, WESH reported.

Photos from the department show firefighters at work, including one firefighter bailing out a second-floor window with flames overhead.

The occupant suffered burn injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The injured firefighter was also transported to a hospital. Click Orlando reported the firefighter’s injuries were not life-threatening.

The fire was extinguished in 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
