Md. firefighters trapped in floor collapse during building fire

A mayday was transmitted after a collapse trapped Baltimore County firefighters

LANSDOWNE, Md. — Four Baltimore County firefighters were injured during a fire in Lansdowne.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Mar. 18 and faced heavy fire at the rear of the mixed, residential and commercial building, WBFF reported.

During fireground operations, a floor collapsed, trapping three firefighters.

Fire department officials said the firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

A fourth firefighter was also injured and transported to a hospital.

Eleven occupants were displaced by the fire.
