Roof collapse traps Pa. firefighters inside burning garage

Two Clearview Fire Department firefighters were trapped when the roof of a burning garage collapsed in Curwensville Borough

CURWENSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. — Two firefighters were trapped in a collapse during a fire in Curwensville Borough that destroyed two buildings.

Firefighters responded to a garage fire on High Street on June 8. The fire spread to a nearby garage and damaged two houses, WTAJ reported.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire had spread to a nearby garage, GANTNews reported. Shortly after entering, the roof collapsed, trapping two Clearview Fire Department firefighters inside.

Both firefighters were rescued and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. A third firefighter was also injured and hospitalized.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
