2 arrested for assaulting Cal Fire captain, damaging ambulance

One man threw bricks at responders and another threatened to kill them; the fire captain received minor injuries and an AMR ambulance was damaged

SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Cal Fire and AMR personnel were attacked while rendering aid at an emergency call Sunday.

MyValleyNews.com reported that when deputies arrived, Cal Fire and AMR personnel were treating a patient when Bobby Henry Jr., 56, physically attacked a Cal Fire captain.

“During the altercation, Bobby’s brother, Tyrone Henry, emerged from the residence and threatened to kill the Cal Fire and AMR personnel at the location,” Riverside County Sheriff’s Sergeant Craig McDonald said.

Bobby proceeded to throw bricks at the responders, forcing them to leave the patient and retreat to a position of safety.

“During the altercation, the Cal Fire captain received minor injuries and an AMR ambulance sustained damage from bricks that were thrown,” McDonald said.

Bobby was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a firefighter and obstructing emergency medical personnel in the performance of their duties, according to the report. Tyrone was arrested for criminal threats and obstruction emergency medical personnel in the performance of their duties.

The patient crews were treating on scene was transported to a hospital for an undisclosed medical condition.
